Preparing for Our Second Chapter Retreat!

5th July 2015

After a long, long break we finally held another ICC Chapter meeting at Ranen's house........ Sorry, no pics. :(

We began the meeting with some of us sharing one significant thing we did during our break from ICC.....

      - Ian and Ranen finally finished their one hundred days of violin practice.Yay!

      - Jaeriel, Nathanael, Jemima, and I went to help in the Children's Institute!

After we broke the ice, Nathanael lead us in worship with two wonderful songs: "Power of His Love" and "Heart of Worship." It was a wonderful time of worship. All of us were very refreshed after the awesome time to praise the Almighty King.

After the worship, Coach Alfred led us a devotion with a short sharing from Psalms 37:5 -- "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass." We should commit our
ways to the Lord, and trust in Him so that He will work His Mighty Hand.

Coach Alfred also shared with us on how important purpose is. He told us that as leaders for Christ,
we need to equip ourselves with a purpose, whether it is bringing people to Christ, ministry, or
other things, we need to be equipped with a purpose. In order to show the world about God, we
need to practice and perfect our skills and communication. However, it all comes from God. It is also to show people that we are not here to show off our great skills, but the purpose of being righteous and holy to bring people to Christ. We need to rely on God's strength and power.

In addition, Coach Alfred shared that we have to commit to our plans. For example, we need to look back at our ICC portfolio and look back to see what we missed and make commitments about what we want to do. We also need to set our goals right.  Of course, before we set goals, we have to seek God's will, and not simply commit to a goal that yields not fruit. As a take away, he asked us, "What is the purpose for us this year?" It really got me thinking.

Nathanael then did a short speech in which he recited Psalm 24.

After that, the coaches and speakers gathered separately to plan for the ICC retreat.

We speakers brainstormed and discussed about things we could do during the retreat. Nat and I also announced the teams in which the speakers would be working in for worship and games, as well as devotions. After some time of discussing, some of us were really restless..:) so we went outside to play some frisbee.
