Welcome to our ICC Meeting!

It was an exciting day, for we were going to have three new families visiting us! We were eager to welcome them.

We began with an icebreaker led by Jonique called Kunga! It was a fun game in which everyone stands in a circle. A person says "Bunny bunny" and points to another person, who does the same, while the two people beside him goes "Tiki tiki" and doing a little dance. And so the game continues on and on.

Next, we had devotions! The topic was peacemaking. I thought it was my turn to do devotions, but Charis said it was her turn! We got into an argument. Whose turn was it?
We then learned that it was actually Jern Ling who was to lead our devotions that day! She helped Charis and I reconcile, and we went back to our seats. Jern Ling shared with us about how peacemaking is important and how we can be good peacemakers. Well done, Jern Ling!

Next, Coach Alfred did a formal introduction to ICC for our visitors. Our purpose was to mentor Christians to lead by means of effective communication. We train to communicate our message in a clear and compelling way.

We had a number of speeches coming our way! First off was Speaker Charis with her persuasive speech about the destructiveness of anger. Anger can cause us to do things we would later regret, and so we need self-control.

Second was Jaeriel! His persuasive speech was on how God wants to show Himself strong in our lives. Taking from events in the Old Testament and the New Testament, Jaeriel talked about God's great deeds and how we can experience the same power.

Then it was our tea break! It was a great time of fellowship!

And back to giving our speeches!

Up next was Speaker Nathanael with another persuasive speech on the power of the media, and how we should be careful with our use of the media.

Then it was my turn! I did an interpretation, telling a story about doing good deeds.

And finally, Jonique and Evan did their limited prep speeches! They did a great job! Well done, everyone!

Before we wrapped up the meeting, though, we had a surprise presentation. Our speakers had won many certificates in the CFC Tournament, and now we got to see one of the winning presentations again! Up came Speakers Jern Yoong and Jern Ling with their duo interpretation: "Are You My Mother?" No matter how many times we have seen it, it never fails to make us laugh!

And so ends our meeting! We definitely had a great time!
