Nights of Speeches @ ATI

THE AVILLION LEGACY, MELAKA:  It was 9pm, and the small crowd was settling down. The emcee, Nathanael, welcomed the guests to the first “night of speeches,” where different speakers in our chapter would take turns to present their speeches.
First up was Debbie, who amused us with her humorous speech, “Who is That Busy Man?” She was confident throughout and exhibited good poise. Great job!
Next was Jemima, who enlightened us on “How to Communicate Effectively to Hearing-Impaired People” through an informative speech.
Then Nathanael and Eunice presented us with their interpretation of the Dr. Seuss classic, “Horton Hears a Who,” to a very receptive audience.
Ian and I were the last to speak, and ended the session with our duo interpretation, “A Sheaf Of Grain,” a feel good Christmas story by Bernadine Beatie.

On the second night, Jaeriel was the first to speak. Everyone enjoyed his delightful interpretation of an African folktale entitled “How Wisdom Got Out.” How everyone shared and felt his pain as (the enacted) Father Anansi fell of the tree!
After that Jern Yoong and Jern Ling made us laugh with their hilarious rendition of an old time childhood favourite “Are You My Mother?” enhanced with sound effects.
Then Charis shared of Pendleton's greatest wish in “The Little Pig Who Wanted to Fly,” a story of how dreams do come true…
Wrapping up the event for the night were Nathanael and Eunice again, with “Horton Hears a Who”, back by popular demand!
That was our platform experience in the land of Gula Melaka! Ciao!
