Welcome to our eighth ICC meeting!
Our meeting began with the
coaches discussing the subject of pain and what we can learn from it.

Friends forever!
Racking our brains for solutions to free ourselves was definitely an unexpected start, but nonetheless exciting. Looking forward to more fun games! :D

Coach Joseph and speakers Eliza and Nathaniel led us in an edifying time of worship with the song “The Perfect Wisdom of Our God." We were reminded that the mysteries of God are beyond our comprehension, and that the mystery of the Cross is the grace that has saved us. Indeed, we need God’s perfect wisdom to guide us through each day and each trial.
After worship, Coach Dicky shared about his family to the USA where they attended the Answers in Genesis Creation to the Cross Conference in Arizona. He shared extensively about his trip to the Grand Canyon, where they got to see firsthand the evidence of creation and how it reminded him of God's greatness.

Instead of the evolutionist ideas of sedimentary layers built up over millennia, we saw that no, the Grand Canyon was indeed formed by rapid burial caused by the Flood as millions of years wouldn't give us the perfectly flat surface found on top of the Canyon.

Subsequently, Coach Joseph reminded us of the purpose of ICC: being effective communicators for Christ. The world is becoming increasingly doubtful of our faith. As it is asking questions, we need to learn to think and also to communicate our faith.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" 1 Peter 3:15

When the BPSers left for their coaching session, Coach Alfred taught us about the basics of a speech: the opening, the body, and the closing. Typically, the opening should catch the audience's attention and build a bridge between the speaker and audience. The message we want to convey is the body, and the closing is our recap and conclusion of our message. Essentially, we should build connections with our audience and transmit our message effectively.
Although many think that a speech is just an essay read aloud, we should remember that a good speech is one given with conviction and adequate preparation.

Jern Ling's speech inspired us, and Jern Yoong backed up his speech strongly with personal experiences of endurance.

Ranen spoke fluently and his speech was notably informative. Jaeriel's words flowed smoothly and his ideas were supported with relevant examples from the Bible.

Ian spoke with great conviction, sharing how he overcame his fear.

The BPSers' session:
The BPS speakers also gave limited preparation speeches where they tried to persuade their audience to buy particular items! It was incredibly entertaining and certainly a great learning experience for the BPSers!
